Favourite Nightmare

Foreword

Days after first watching Obsession (2025 film) it's still on my mind. Then driving to (and from) Ottawa and listening to dark wave witch house music I felt an unusual need to get creative like I was 20 again. So I took some notes and later wrote this horror poem. Enjoy!

Favourite Nightmare

I'm your favourite nightmare. You see me in the shadows. Am I beautiful? My skin is cold but you're so warm. My bed is dust, so let me join yours. You can save me. I don't know if I'm dead or alive. Don't trust me. I'm lost in my lies. Stay away. You can trust me. Look at my body. It's all yours. Souls aren't real, so give yourself to me. Let me break you. My face next to yours. I smell your cold sweat. Too late to say no. I reach deep inside you. Don't relax. Please fight. Blood in my mouth. You squirm. Love it or hate it - it's all the same to me. Should we stop here, or just break it? Do you want more? You're fading. I reach deeper. Your soul is mine. I tear into you. Your body is cold now. You saved me - for tonight. I lose interest. Am I still your favourite nightmare?
