Release 1.6: Filter, Sort, and Optimizations

Posted by Stuart Spence in ChessCraft

Apparently, some of you have been very busy making lots and lots of custom boards and pieces. A popular request is to sort and filter your creations, so here it is!

So you could, for example, see a list of only boards that you've created sorted small to big.

Fun fact: sorting boards by creation date required me to (internally) set a "creation date" for classic chess. I went with 550 AD. Hmmm!

As usual I tried to make the UI design simple and visual, instead of cluttered and filled with text. Thoughts?

Grab, Thumbnails, and Sharing Bugs

  • I added a "grab and drop" tool to the editor. Some folks wanted this so they can play really bizarre rules against each other right in the editor. Okay!
  • The board thumbnails are generated 3x faster now.
  • A few bug fixes with sharing and importing boards. So far, the sharing feature has been working out great! Not perfect, but great.

Next..?

As promised, the next version will come out faster than 1.4 and 1.5, which were monsters. Stay tuned!

Let me know what features you'd like next. I have plenty of ideas - tho I prioritize requests if lots of people ask.

Thanks so much for reading!
